Reading – The test for this week stories will be on Friday. “The Missing 
Cake” and “Flake, the Missing Hamster”.  
Reading vocabulary words to know are:
*found     *near      *hears      *might     *open      *gone	  
*around       *tired      
Review words: warm, cool, over, our, mother, told.
The “words to know” are high frequency words.  Your child should be able to 
read/recognize these words (not spell them).
Robust Vocabulary words are:

	*sympathy—When you let others know you are sorry they feel bad, you 
are showing sympathy.
	*sensitive—If you are sensitive, you care about other people’s 
feelings.
	*devoted—If you are devoted to someone, you love and want to take 
care of that person.
	*alarmed—If you are alarmed, you feel scared or worried.
	*mysterious—If something is mysterious, it is strange or puzzling.
	*overjoyed—When you are overjoyed, you are very, very happy.

Spelling – Lesson 21 
	came		take

	late		four
	lake		place

Religion –Chapter 18 ”We Are Followers of Jesus” -- The religion book will be 
sent home the night before the test. 

Math – Chapter 19 “We Celebrate God’s Forgiveness”.  Math pages will be sent 
home the night before the test. 

Phonics – Long vowel /a/ a-e

Language – Lesson 21 Describing Words: we will identify and use describing 
words that tell how many.
