What's happening in Pre-K 3

February 13, 2012

Dear Parents,

Thanks so much for the beads and bags of candy. Please continue sending items
in. We need a lot to make our parade a huge success.

This week we will move on to letter Mm, and our puppet Merry Mouse.

"Merry Mouse lived with Mama Mouse in a mushroom patch on
Monster Mountain. Merry and Mama were mail mice. On Monday
morning when Merry woke up with measles, Mr. Monster gave him
some medicine. When Merry looked in the mirror and saw that his marks were
missing, he made some muffins to thank Mr. Monster."

We will pin punch Mm, Cut out M and add Mardi Gras colors to it. Our Unit of
study is Mardi Gras. We will be making Masks and discussing the colors of
Mardi Gras and the Louisiana Tradition of Mardi Gras. Laissez les bon temps
roulez!!! We will make a huge Fleur de Lis, a golf ball painted mask, a King
Cake, and we will even bake our very own King Cake! We will be preparing
for our parade this week.

In Math, we will move on to number 13. We will count the beads on our Throw
Me something counting page, trace and pin punch 13 and sequence all sorts of
things using numbers 1 – 13. Please practice writing and counting numbers
daily.

Please continue to send beads, and any other items to throw in the parade.
Wagons are due on Tuesday!!!!! Thanks to the parents who said we could use
theirs. This is such a fun time for the children. They really enjoy being
able to throw the beads instead of catching them. Feel free to walk with
your child in the parade also. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

On Tuesday, we will celebrate Valentines Day by having a Valentine snack.
Please bring your items on Monday as well as all Valentine Cards From:
student. We will become postmen and women that day and hand deliver our mail
to each student. WAGONS are also due on Tuesday. Please bling them out as
much as you would like. It is Mardi Gras!!

Thursday, Parade day, students may wear Lime Green Pre-K shirt with jeans and
school shoes. Please no masks or hats. It makes it difficult for the little
ones to throw the throws in the parade with things on their face. Please meet
our class under the early car covered walk by 1:45. If you are pulling a
wagon please be in the classroom at 1:30.

If you have any questions or concerns please let me know. The children are
doing such a great job! They came back from the holidays ready to work. I am
so proud of them!

Thanks again

Mrs. Donna and Mrs. Sharon
