Oil City Magnet School is the only environmental science school in Louisiana. Students learn environmental science across the curriculum through outdoor classrooms, an on-campus nature trail, outdoor Math Lab, field trips, and our partnerships with great educational resources such as Project Learning Tree and Sci-Port. Students complete hands-on community projects that help improve their community and instill the value of the lessons they are learning in the classroom. We are located in a small rural area in northern Caddo Parish. Come visit us! The difference is truly worth the distance!

At this site students can take practice tests for the LEAP and iLEAP in grades 3 through 12.
 

Notices:

April 17th

The 3rd grading period ends Thursday April 17th. The 4th grading period begins Monday, May 5th.

April 18th - May 2nd

School is closed beginning Friday, April 18th - May 4th. Classes will resume on Monday, May 5th.

April 24 - 30

The 7th and 8th grade students will travel to Cal-wood Education Center in Jamestown, Colorado on April 24th and return April 30th.

Monday, April 28

Pre-K & Kindergarten Round-Up will be Monday, April 28th from 8:30-11:30. You must have the following to register: birth certificate, health card, social security card,proof of residence (not needed for kindergarten) and a self addressed stamped legal size envelope (not needed for kindergarten).

Saturday, May 3rd

***The Oil City Robotics Team will be in competition with other middle schools from Bossier and Caddo on May 3rd at the Bossier Civic Center. ***The Oil City Dance Line Tigerettes, Twirlers, and Sweet Potatoes will perform at Gusher Days. Times to be announced.

Friday, May 9th

The third annual Oil City Beauty Pageant will be held May 9th. More information can be found by clicking on the PTSO tab to the left.
