May 14-18

Objectives: Each junior will research a specific disease (student selected/teacher approved) and prepare a powerpoint and oral presentation from that data.

Monday – powerpoints due on classroom computer

Wednesday – exam review

Thursday – final exams begin (schedule TBA)

Objectives: TLW prepare for and take his/her final exam. Juniors will begin work on projects.

Wednesday – Friday – juniors will be given details of their 'disease' project and time/materials to work on it


April 23-27

Objectives: TLW merge knowledge of all systems studied while dissecting fetal pig.

Monday – Tuesday – finish dissection

Wednesday – pig practical exam

April 16-20

Objectives: TLW list the functions, parts and disorders of the reproductive system. TLW merge knowledge of all systems studied while dissecting fetal pig.

Monday – turn in lymphatic system packet; receive immune system packet - due Monday, April 23; notes on reproductive system

Tuesday – continue notes

Wednesday – Friday –lab

Friday – WP Set 16 test


April 10-13

Objectives:  TLW list the functions, parts and disorders of the digestive and urinary systems. 

Monday – No School!!

Tuesday – begin discussion of digestive system; given lymphatic system packet, due 4/16

Thursday – urinary system; review

March 26-30

Objectives: TLW list the functions, parts and disorders of the respiratory system.

Monday – test on blood and the cardiovascular system; given Word Parts Set 15 (test after Easter break)

Tuesday – Wednesday – topic: the respiratory system

Thursday – Honor Roll Breakfast - classwork for those not attending

Friday – test on the respiratory system


March 19-23

Objectives: TLW list the functions, parts and disorders of the lymphatic and immunesystems.

Monday – test onendocrine system; given WP Set 14

Objectives: TLW list the organs/glands of the endocrine system, their hormones, and the effects of each hormone.

Objectives:  TLW describe the structure and general function of the outer, middle and internal ears.
TLW explain how one is able to differentiate pitch and loudness, and localize the source of sounds.
TLW list possible causes and symptoms of otitis media, deafness and Meniere's syndrome.

Objectives: TLW describe the structure and function of accessory eye structures, eye layers, the lens and humors of the eye.

Objectives: TLW discuss the importance of sleep, the divisions of memory, and disorders of the nervous system.

January 3-6 Students who are new to Ms Crain's class will be given a class outline on

purple paper. This sheet will describe her class rules, grading system, bonus points, the 100-point binder grade, etc. Parents as well as students are encouraged to read this class outline, and refer to it often. 

Objectives:TLW list the functions of the muscular system.

TLW identify major muscles of the body.

Monday – NO SCHOOL!! (Enjoy the last day of our holiday!)

Tuesday – orientation specifically for students new to Ms Crain's class

Wednesday – begin notes on muscular system; given word parts set 9 (test next week)

Thursday – define selected vocabulary terms; hmwk - color sheet

Friday – given names of specific muscles students will need to identify
