Skill of the week: Fitness/Wiffle Ball/Tennis
GLE's: 1-H-1.3, 3-H-1.1, 4-H-1.2
Objectives:
1. The student will be able to perform basic physical fitness activities/movements.
2. The student will be able to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of the class.
3. The student will be able to explain and play, using set rules, a game of cabbage ball and/or wiffle ball.
4. The student will be alble to explain and play a game of tennis using set rules.
Monday
Warm-up: dynamic stretches, static stretches
Activity: Push-ups (20 sec.), crunches (40 sec.), core stability exercises like bridge/plank (increased time from previous week)
Separate into teams and play wiffle ball.
Tennis groups will begin learning a basic serve and swing. (Group 2)
Tuesday
Warm-up: dynamic stretches, static stretches
Activity: Push-ups(20 sec.), crunches (40 sec.), bridge/plank (increased time from previous week)
Separate into teams and play wiffle ball.
Tennis groups will practice a basic serve and swing. (Group 2)
Wednesday
Warm-up: dynamic stretches, static stretches, arms
Activity: Perform push-ups (20 sec.), crunches (40 sec.), bridge/plank (increased time from previous week)
Separate into teams and introduce cabbage ball.
Tennis groups will continue on courts. (Group 2)
Thursday
Warm-up: dynamic stretches, static stretches, arms
Activity: Perform push-ups (20 sec.), crunches (40 sec.), bridge/plank (20 sec.)
Separate into teams and play cabbage ball.
Tennis groups will continue on courts. (Group 2)
Fitness Friday: Students will be allowed to choose a physical activity and work on getting and keeping their heartrate increased for the duration of the class period.
