SAT Registration Deadline

Plan to attend the College and Career fair at Pennington Center at SLU. Doors open at 6.

ACT Registration Deadline

Be aware of admission and financial aid application deadlines and meet them

Arrange interviews and campus tours at colleges. Make arrangements to attend Senior Day at the coll

Request letters of reccomendation from teachers, guidance couselors, and employers

Devote time, energy, and thought to writing required essays.

Finalize reccomendation forms and list of teachers, Guidance Counselors.

Start searching for private scholarships

Meet scholarship application deadline with your college or university

Obtain 2010-2011 FAFSA. Do not complete until after January 1

Apply over the internet wiht FAFSA on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov

Confirm that all school admissions application materials,have been sent on schedule

Be sure to register for your FAFSA pin number

Collect family tax information for 2011

complete FASFA form as soon after January 1st as possible.

Register for advanced placement exams

Verify that your Counselor sent your mid-year transcripts to the schools to which you applied

Review you FAFSA report for accuracy. Correct inaccurate items and return it to FAFSA if need be.

If you applied for early decision, responses should be coming to you

Attend financial aid night programs

Submit and essay for Lela's "Cash For College" essay contest

Promptly respond to any requests from the college Admissions of Financial Aid offices

Schools begin to notify students of admission acceptance

Notify the Financial Aid office of any outside scholarships or grants that you recieve

Continue to seek and apply for private Scholarships

Make a plan for saving a portion of your summer earnings. Attend freshman orientation

Review the financial aid reward letter and be sure that you understand the terms and conditions.

Compare the offers you recieve from each college

Make your final decision on what college you will attend

Notify the offices of Admissions and Finanacial Aid at the colleges you are not attending.

Return your award letter to the college you are attending

sign up for Freshman orientation at your college

Find out when payment of school charges (tuition, fees, room and board) are due.

Respond to college requests. Arrange for housing and meal plan. Apply for summer job.
