Welcome to 2011/12 school year!

This is what you can expect to learn this semester:

World History-We will begin with Ancient Rome and discover how it developed and expanded, paying close attention to the evolving religions.  As Ancient Rome falls we will learn about the onset of the Medieval time period and how it lent to the birth of the Renaissance.  New semester will include the Renaissance, Scientific Revolution, Enlightenment, Reformation and European Exploration.

American History-We will begin with the events that lead the American nation into Civil War and discover how the nation healed through Reconstruction, we will explore how industrialization of the nation transformed the landscape of our economy.  New semester will lead the U.S. into another World War (II) and create changes in our foreign policy that will draw the U.S. into the world arena.

Civics-We begin with the understanding of different types of government, take an in depth look at the nations first attempt to govern under the Articles of Confederation, its downfall and the Constitutional Convention, and then we will begin exploring the U.S. Constitution.  New semester will move into looking at civic duty, voting and local and state politics.

I have a fun quarter planned.
