March 12, 2012:
World History:
Monday/Tuesday-Students will each develop the enlightened ideas from a philosopher.  Their projects will relate their philosophers name, nationality, profession, key contribution, published works, significant quote from their works, interesting facts, and a picture of the philosopher.  Students will then rotate around the classroom taking notes from each others biographies.
Wednesday-

American History:
Monday-Students analyze the features of the Articles of Confederation to determine whty they were included and to consider possible problems they created.
Tuesday-Students will look at how the members of the Constitutional Convention attempted to resolve controversial issues when creating the Constitution.
Wednesday/Thursday-Students will have a constitutional card sort, in pairs they will analyze constitutional questions about the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.
Friday-Quiz on AOC and Consitutional Compromises.  Students will create a graphic organizer for their Consitutional Card Sort.

Civics:
Monday-Go over requirements for their projects and the latest information on National History Day.
Tuesday-Finish Stock Market notes about different types of stocks and stock market terms
Wednesday/Thursday-Students will learn about the impact that efficient markets have on attempting to correctly time the stock market, as well as how investing in stocks should have long-term investment goals.  Inlcudes small exercises on the internet to test our strategies.
Friday-Quiz on stock market.  Students will identify sources for macroeconomic data, interpret that data, describe the present state of the economy using current data, and use that data to predict the state of the economy one year from now.  Ending with a game on the internet to test that knowledge.
