Undergraduate degree in Physical Education and English from the University
of New Orleans. First, graduate degree, Master of Education in Reading from
the University of Southern Mississippi. A second graduate degree, Master of
Education from the Southeastern Louisiana University certified in Special
Education.
I am also a registered coach with the Louisiana High School
Athlectic Association. For the 2009-2010 school year, I am coaching the
sports of Cross Country and Track and Field.
I began teaching in Arabi, Louisiana in the 1977-1978 school year. My husband
and I moved to the Northshore in November, 1977, so in the 1979-1980 school
year I began teaching in Slidell, Louisiana. My career with St. Tammany
Parish began in the 1991-1992 school year with Slidell High School for one
year.
From this temporary position I moved to Northshore High School where my three
children attended and graduated as Classes of 1994, 1998, and 2000. I
instructed at NHS for nine years.
In the school year 2001-2002. I began teaching with Pearl River High School.
I have been a member of the "Pearl" family for the past nine years.
On completion of this year I will have been a practicing teacher for the past
thirty-two years. This year will be my eighteenth year with St. Tammany
Parish. Thank you for the assistance in my participation with your student.
My philosophy of teaching is exemplified by the district, "Every Student
Every Day, All Day". My expectations equal this in my class. I am focused on
the success of all students and all students can succeed.
