ELA/Reading
We will study a number of novels this year. I will post relevent information
as the school year progresses.
We will take a spelling test every Thursday.
Spelling
We will take a spelling test every Thursday.
Due Friday- Spelling worksheet activity if not completed in class
Due Tuesday- write down what you think each spelling word
means then look it up in a dictionary to see if you are right. If your
definition is not correct please copy the definition you find in the
dictionary.
Due Wednesday - Write a sentence using each spelling word correctly. You have
to write 1 complete sentence for each word.
Due Thursday - Write your spelling words 3 times each
Social Studies
We will begin the year looking at some of the first Northern American
Settlers and Natives. We will also explore Geography concepts, lattitude, and
longitude.
There will be a current event due each week. The particulars of each weeks
event will be posted for students to copy into their Agenda's on Monday.
Homework assignments will also be written on the board for students to copy
into their agendas.
During the third 9 weeks all 7th grade students participate in DARE.
Science
We will have an exciting year working with other science classes on labs and
projects. Completion of a Science Fair Project will be mandatory.
Homework will be posted on the Board for students to copy into their Agendas.
Math
We will begin by reviewing comman math functions and applications to include
addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of single and multidigit
numbers, and as word problems.
Homework will be on the board to be copied into student agendas.
Study Skills/Social Skills
Second Steps Materials on empathy and communication will be our First Unit.

Extra Reading
Students will be instructed utilizing SRA and will access Achieve 3000 to
improve their overall reading skills.
This class will genrally not have homework, however in the event that their
is an assignment students will be responsible for copying it into their
agenda.
