2^nd Grade Class

May 9-13

Math

We are completing the chapter on adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers.  We will begin a chapter on multiplication.  It is a basic introduction and there will be no test.

Spelling

The words this week will be summer related words.  There will be no test.

Reading

We have completed the reading book.  This week we will review the stories from   the last theme and practice skills.  No test will be given.         

Grammar

We will review skills.

Social Studies

We will discuss the swamp unit to prepare for the field trip. We will begin a unit on Louisiana.  We will also do a mini-unit on insects.

Remember the field trip to Honey Island Swamp is tomorrow.  The chaperones are dads of Madi D. and Seth, and moms of Turner, Kelsi, Joey, Zachary, and Collin.  Don’t forget to send lunch!   Chaperones need to be at school early.  Also, I will bring a blanket, but it would be helpful if one of you bring a blanket as well.  

Next Tuesday we will visit Diamond Dell at school.   

Thanks to you and the children I had a very special Teacher Appreciation Week.  I indeed felt much appreciated.
