Announcements

The time has finally arrived!  The play “First Kids in Space” is this Tuesday, April 24th, at 1:00 p.m.  All first grade classes and several others have been invited to the performance (a few kinder, second, and third).  I know the students are excited.  Last week they had the chance to dress up in their costumes, dance in them, and just get used to the feel of having them on.  We even had a chance to take some pictures.

All  Androids should wear their navy blue schoolt-shirts or black Spring fling t-shirts to school that day.  The robot costume opens a bit in the back, so it will look better with something dark underneath.  White shirts will be quite noticeable.

Astronauts wearing the orange costumes should wear their navy blue, school, collared shirt to school that day.  Please note, not the blue t-shirt.  We want to wear the collar out onto the costume.  Everyone should wear their school shorts to school on Tuesday.  Long pants and skorts/skirts make it bulky underneath.  Thank you.

As mentioned in last week’s overview, we will put on our program (the performance involving the planets and gods) on Tuesday, May 1st, at 3:15 p.m.  This is the last Afternoon Assembly of the year. It will not be long, but it will be cute.  As soon as our play is over, please help your child practice his/her part for this presentation.

The Accelerated Reader Awards Breakfast is scheduled for May 16, at 9:30 a.m.  Remind your children that since I must order the trophies, the last day to be eligible for this award will be May 9th.    Trophies and medals will be given out at the AR Breakfast.  It will be a simple ceremony, but I hope you can join me in congratulating all our hard-working students.  Thank you.

This Friday is Earth and Science Day.  We will be in and out of the classroom.  It will be a great way to bring the week to an end.

Still coming are Water Park Day, and First Grade Beach Day.  More info will follow once I have all the details.  In the meantime, get the bathingsuits ready!

On May 18th, there will be a final whole school assembly.  My class, along with a few others, will be performing.  The assembly will begin at 9:30 a.m.  and last about an hour.

Thank you for everything you do.
