How does 'snack' work?

Everyday your child should bring his/her own snack. Our snack
time is around 1:30. I suggest sending in bottled water and a
small baggie of something your child likes to eat. Think: Is it
easy to open? Does my child really like eating it? Is it too
messy? Is it healthy for my child to eat? Please label
everything with your child's name.

What about homework?

Your homework (parent) is to check and initial your child's daily
folder.
Help your child to practice writing the letters in their name
correctly.
Talk to your child about what we are covering each week. You can
find out in our class overview.
Have your child read the week's High Frequency Words.
Read to your child daily.
Help your child develop independence. Have them (under your
supervision) pack their daily snack, put their folder back in
their school bag. Teach them self help skills (how to zip a zip
lock baggie, open a pack of crackers, put a straw in a drink,
button their pants...)

Will there be 'show and tell'?

Our kindergarten curriculum (nationally) has become quite
rigorous. I do not usually schedule a regular show and tell.
However, if you have something interesting that goes along with
any of our study topics, we'd love to see and discuss it.
