The following is an overview of what I plan to cover the week of
May 14-18 & 21, 2012 with your child:
LANGUAGE ARTS
LETTERS:
Review all letters of the alphabet. Logon to www.starfall.com for letter activities.
COLOR & COLOR WORDS:
Review “red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, brown, black, white, pink, & gray”.
SIGHT VOCABULARY—High Frequency Word(s):
Review “I, can, we, the, like, a, see, go, to, have, is, play, are, for, you, this, do, and, what, little, said, here, was, she, he, has, look, with, my, me, & where”.
TEXT CONNECTION BOOK LIST—Used in the Classroom:
Read Aloud Anthology, Big Book of Explorations, & Sing, Talk and Rhyme Chart
MATH
We will review addition & subtraction. Review numbers “0 - 20” and their number words. Continue with money (coins: penny, nickel, dime, & quarter) and calendar. Logon on to www.starfall.com for calendar activities. Review circle, triangle, square, rectangle, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, rhombus, & oval. We have been counting by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, & 10’s to 100.
Social Living / Science:
We will review our “I Know a Lot” unit.
SPECIAL NOTE:
It’s time to say goodbye. It seems like just yesterday I met you at Open House. It has been delightful working with you and having your fantastic children in my class. Thank you for all the wonderful gifts throughout the year. May all of you enjoy a safe and happy Summer Break.
Other Information:
The PES “I Think I Can” Celebration for my class is scheduled for Wednesday, 5/16/12 at 10:00 AM. Permission slip and dress requirements are enclosed.
Our End-of-the-Year Kindergarten Program will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, 5/18/12 followed by a reception for parents and children in my classroom. Please have your child wear a plain, white shirt and blue jeans for the performance.
The last day of school for this year is Tuesday, 5/22/12 with early dismissal that day.
If your child still has a PES library book at home; please return it to the school this week.
