Homework
Monday-- Write spelling words.
Tues.--Read "The Kite". Answer questions with complete sentences! .
Wed.--"I Think I Can" math homework.
Thurs.--Read library books. Study for spelling test.

Topics of learning
Reading-- Vocabulary--shout, laughter, meadow, perhaps, should, never, ball, head
Spelling --find, kind, night, right, by, my, low, boat, never, head, *magnolia, *pelican
Grammar-- Adjectives.
Math--Sorting rules, graphs, tally charts, grids & coordinates.
Social Studies--Louisiana

Student of the Week--Knox and Jessie

VALENTINE'S DAY--Tues., Feb. 14th.  Send your valentines! (20)

Feb. 16th--1st grade Mardi Gras maid and duke presentaions in the gym. 9:00am.
              The first grade Maid and Duke from our class are....
          Lindsey Pinson and Tyler Thalgott!  Congratulations.

Feb. 17th--PES Mardi Gras Parade--Bring your THROWS all week.
All first grade classes will be throwing as we march in the parade.  Please collect trinkets or candy (no hard candy please) to throw, if possible.  Beads get sooooo tangled and are frustrating to the students.  If you wish your child to throw beads, please separate them and put them in ziplock snap bags to throw.  Thank you!
REMEMBER to bring a purple shirt on Friday to wear in the PES parade.  ALSO, if you plan to keep the hat we're wearing, please sent $6.00 to Mrs. Calmes.

NO AFTERCARE on Friday, Feb. 17th due to the ORPHEUS parade.
