I love teaching; it's my passion. Pontchartrain Elementary has been my "school
home" for 15 years, and I am truly blessed to work with such exceptional
teachers and staff. Previously I taught in St. Charles Parish for two years,
and taught three years at Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans. For
three years, I worked as a private learning specialist with the Center for
Development and Learning in Covington.
My B.S. degree is in Elementary and Special Education, earned at LSU; my M.Ed.
in Counseling was earned at UNO where I also I completed my Reading
Specialist certification. My Masters Plus Thirty in Educational Technology is
from Northwestern. I'm a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of
Exceptional Needs.
My husband of 29 years is an attorney, and I'm the mother of four children,
and grandmother to two precious little boys ages 6 and 11, and we have a
little girl on the way! She's due early October.
My mission is to guide and help my students fall in love with reading and math
and learning. I want to see each child realize his/her potential, unique gifts
and talents, and priceless value. My goal is for my students to be willing to
take risks and accept that we all make mistakes - that's how we learn new
things. Helping them gain confidence while demonstrating patience and
understanding for others is another important goal. I believe that with my
dedication and high expectations, students will master skills, concepts,
study habits, and organization that will last a life time.
