* Ch. 2 and 3 Addition- lesson 2-7 Estimating Sums, 3-1 Adding Two-Digit #s, 3-3 Adding Three- Digit #s,
3-4 Adding Three or More #s, 3-12 Adding $
* We will focus on subtraction after the Mardi Gras holidays.
Language Arts:
Reading:
* Test Friday on Boom Town
* Weekly concepts: vocabulary: words in context, compound words, reading comprehension, summarizing, comparing, contrasting, and sequencing
Writing: Conclude the Valentine thematic unit and introduce the Mardi Gras unit
Language: Pronouns and capitalization
Spelling: Compound words (We will not test on this section.)
Announcements:
· 70% of your child’s A.R. goal with 85% comprehension is due by Friday.
· I Think I Cans are due on Mondays.
· Valentine card/treat information: We currently have 16 students in our class.
· Feb. 16th- Second grade ball at 2 p.m.
· Feb. 17th- PES Mardi Gras parade at 2 p.m., Orpheus parade- no aftercare
