Look What We Are Doing...

Reading:  This weeks literature focus will be about Mardi Gras and Louisiana.  We will learn about some of the Mardi Gras traditions and we will discover what makes ourt state different and special

We will review the letters we have covered so far and add the letter and sound for Ll.  In class we are sounding out words to write them.  Encourage your child to use the letters/sounds to spell and read words.

We are writing sentences using a sentence frame.  The children are encouraged to begin sentences with a capital letter, use ending punctuation as well as proper spacing between words.  (A sentence frame is a set of words we all begin with , then each child inserts his or her own ideas to personalize the sentence.  An example would be; I like _________.)

Homework Ideas:  Continue to practice shoe tying.  Encourage your child to write and spell words the way they sound.  Say a letter or it's sound and have your child write the letter.
