This year begins my 21st year in education, 13th year teaching in St. Tammany
Parish and my 7th year teaching at PES. I have taught 4th grade, 1st grade,
Head Start and general education classes in a community college. But,
kindergarten is my thing!
I believe Kindergarten is the most fun and important year of early elementary
school. It is in Kindergarten that first impressions of "big kid school" are
formed and a lasting image of school is created. Kindergarten is more than
sand and blocks. In Kindergarten the foundation for all subjects are begun.
Reading, math, science,and social studies are all explored and discovered in
the Kindergarten year. Confidence is built and independence, curiosity and
social skills developed. With guidance and support at home and in the
school, there is no limit for a kindergarten aged child.
Learning should be fun and it is...in Kindergarten!
