Students learn about ART through lessons based on the
Discipline Based Arts Education approach (DBAE).
This form of instruction includes: 

Aesthetic Discussion
(talking about art)
Art Criticism
(critiquing art)
Art History
(learning about artists and great works)
Art Production
(creating art)

Art lessons include viewing and discussing famous artwork, using art materials and tools safely, and creating visual art.  Note that not all lessons can be production lessons since discussing and critiquing art is part of the learning process. 

Talented Note:  Last days to turn in art for Talented Screening are JANUARY 24th and MARCH 13th

NOTE TO PARENTS!!!!!! 
Something to keep in mind... Find out what day(s) your child has art class.  On those days, you can choose to send your child in a "not so perfect" uniform, such as one that may already have a small stain on it.  We do not paint every day but keep that in mind JUST IN CASE.  This way you can protect your best uniforms and save them for the days your child does not have art class.
