FAQS about Talented ART

1.  May a student be screened and/or evaluated in more than one area of the 
Talented Arts Program (art, music, theatre)?

--Yes, they can be sceened/evaluated for all.


2.  May a student participate in more than one area of the Talented Arts 
Program at the same time?

--Yes, if classified in more than one area and the IEP committee determines 
that there is room in the student’s schedule and/or it is in the best 
interest of the student.


3.  How are Talented Arts Program students served?

--The parent is sent a copy of the evaluation; the Talented Arts Program 
teacher who will be teaching the student sets up an Individualized Education 
Plan (IEP) conference with the parent and other appropriate school personnel 
to develop a plan of goals and objectives for the student.

--RSE students attend class once a week for a total of 120 minutes 
and are taught at their school site.


4.  If a student does not pass the screening or evaluation, can he/she try 
again?

--Yes, but is suggested that they wait at least one year before being 
screened or evaluated again so they may improve on suggested areas.
