Hello, my name is Kelley Ybos. I am a graduate of the University of
Southern Mississippi with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. I
went to Southeastern to get my teaching certification and have an Alternate
Certification degree in Elementary Education grades 1-8.
I have been in education for 11 years, and 7 of those years have been at
Riverside teaching 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. Prior to my Riverside home,
I taught 6th grade English/Language Arts at St. Tammany Jr. High School for 4
years.
I have been married to a wonderful man for the past 22 years and have 3
beautiful children. My husband, Raymond, is a professional musician and
manages a music store in Mandeville. My oldest daughter, Megan, is a
graduate of Northshore High School and a freshman at the University of
Southern Mississippi majoring in Psychology and Theatre. She is actively
involved in our local Slidell Little Theatre. My son, Tyler, is a freshman at
Northshore High School and is a saxophone player in the school's marching
band. He also participates in the school's choir program. My youngest
daughter, Madison, is a 6th grader at Clearwood Jr. High. She is actively
involved in the theatre program at Slidell Little Theatre and participates in
her school's choir program. I have a very musical family!
I have many hobbies, but my favorites are reading on my Nook and watching
movies. I also love to dabble in cooking. One hobby I would love to do more
of is traveling. My family and I have been on some wonderful vacations
together, but my goal is to visit ALL fifty states.
My goal as a teacher is to create a safe and creative environment for my
students so that they each become lifelong learners. This is accomplished by
everyone working hard, following the classroom and school rules, being fair to
ourselves and each other, and respecting everyone. I truly believe that with
effort on everyone's part, each child will be a success in life.
