Spelling tests will be every Friday, or Thursday if we don't have school on Friday.  You should practice calling out the words so that your child can write them.

Reading vocabulary words, also called high-frequency words will only be read from flash cards.  You should practice having your child read these words in random order from index cards.

We are also tested on a 1 minute timed reading.  This is called Oral Reading Fluency.  Your child should be able to read 30 words per minute by January and 40 words per minute by the end of the year.  Errors are subtracted from their score.

Please send a healthy snack for your child every day.  We have snack time every day at about 1:30.
Beginning this week concessions will be sold every Tuesday and Wednesday for .50 cents at snack time. Throughout the year classes will be selling concessions on most days to raise money for field trips.

Please join PTA!  They do so much to help our school and our children. 

Our PE days are every Tuesday and Thursday, be sure your child has on proper shoes (tennis type shoes)  on those days.  They will have to sit out and miss PE if they don't have on the correct shoes.

Our library day will be Monday.  Be sure to have your library book every Monday so that you are able to check out a new book.
