In addition to being certified in English, I am also a certified k-12 SPED teacher. I have over 10 years of teaching SPED students in all grade levels and all exceptionalities. My students who have I.E.P.'s hold a very special place in my heart. I know that the main concern for a parent with children of exceptionalities, is that their child(ren) will be treated fairly and given the accommodations and modifications that are due to them. I can assure you, that I personally go through each student's file so that I am familiar and aware of any issues that may arise. I am also responsible for doing I.E.P.'s for some of our students at Salmen. I know that having an I.E.P. can be a sensitive issue to some of our teens, so I am very careful and discreet when approaching the students about their accommodations. I will always keep your child's information confidential. If there is anything I need to send home to you,I will email you the day before to make you aware. All SPED information will be sent in an unmarked brown envelope, for the students consideration. If you have any questions about upcoming I.E.P.'s or your child's progress in my classroom, please do not hesitate to contact me.
