About The Teacher

I grew up in New Orleans and attended the Louise S. McGehee prep.
school for girls. I attended LSU from 1970-1974, where I received my
Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies. I attended William
Carey School of Nursing for a year before deciding to go into
teaching. I have four sons: Patrick, Christopher, Beau, and Austen.
Patrick and Christopher graduated from Salmen in 1996 and Beau graduated in
2002. Patrick and Christopher have completed their educations and are now in
the mortgage banking business. Christopher lives in Atlanta and Patrick has
moved to Birmingham. Beau has received his degree from Tulane and has
passed his Series 7 exam. He is employed by Captial One Bank under Homeland
Security. Austen is enrolled in Tulane University.

My husband, Bill, is self-employed.

This is my 30th year at Salmen High school.

Mission For The Class

My mission is to help students appreciate why we study American History and
the important role this knowledge has in their lives. I want them to be
educated voters and to understand the political mechanizations of our
country, as well as others around the world. I want to help them understand
their responsibilities and duties as citizens of the United States and to
appreciate the opportunities that citizenship in such a great country brings
to them.
