What kind of homework will I see?

the art classes are studio-style with the majority of the work completed during class. Homework will be
occasional make-up after an excused absence or when there's extra effort and time being put in for a
better grade/product...or when there's a test scheduled.

What books will be assigned?

The art department is full of books (from the school, the public library, and my own collection) but
there is no textbook issued to students. We do have 3 classroom sets of books that we will use as
reference/resources; Art in Focus, Exploring Visual Design and ArtTalk.

What kind of supplies are needed?

Every student should have a folder and plenty of pencils (with erasers!). We will try to provide all other
supplies needed for class through instructional funding , but donations are always welcome!

How do you grade art work?

All assignments are graded on specific criteria given during instruction, as well as on creative effort,
craftsmanship, and application of design elements and principles. You may also want to read the
grading policy handout in the art folder.

--------------------------------------

How are the daily grades earned?

Students must spend at least 95% of their class time engaged in actively working on their assignment,
they must keep their work area clean and be responsible for any tools or materials used. If they are
absent they must have an excuse as outlined in school policy.
