About The Teacher

I've lived in Slidell for over 40 years now and I'm married with two grown
sons and two absolutely "perfect" grandsons - really! I also have
an 'adopted' daughter from Vietnam who first came to live with us as an
exchange student and who now attends college in the states and
a brand-new adopted grand-daughter from Korea.
I love to draw and paint, of course, and do crafts and work in the yard and
I read all the time.
I've been at Salmen since 1983 (and for three years before that at
Mandeville High) doing what I love to do - teaching art. I have a BA from
Southeastern and have taken courses since then from my alma
mater as well as from LSU, UNO and Tulane. I don't think education should
ever end - it's a joy to discover new things!
I'm really proud of Salmens' students and especially of the students I get
to know through the Art Department. They're really terrific kids to work
with - even if they do think I'm yapping at them too much sometimes.... ;-)

Mission For The Class

To help students recognize their own unique potential and to become
more aware and appreciative of the fantastic world we share.
