I've lived in Slidell for over 40 years now and I'm married with two grown
sons and two absolutely "perfect" grandsons - really! I also have four
'adopted' daughters who originally came to live with us as
exchange students. Two are attending college in the states and the other
two are back home again. And we also have an adopted grand-daughter
from Korea who is the princess of the whole group.
I love to draw and paint, of course, and do crafts and work in the yard and
I read all the time.
I've been at Salmen since 1983 (and for three years before that at
Mandeville High) doing what I love to do - teaching art. I have a BA from
Southeastern and have taken courses since then from my alma
mater as well as from LSU, UNO and Tulane. I don't think education should
ever end - it's a joy to discover new things!
I'm really proud of Salmens' students and especially of the students I get
to know through the Art Department. They're really terrific kids to work
with - even if they do think I'm yapping at them too much sometimes.... ;-)
To help students recognize their own unique potential and to become
more aware and appreciative of the fantastic world we share.
