Romeo and Juliet Newspaper—Project grade

Date due:  December 1, 2008

 As a group, you all will create your very own  newspaper based on the 
play “Romeo and Juliet.” The
group will come up with the newspaper’s title and everything in the paper 
must be based on the
storyline.
The newspaper must be typed, and it must look like a newspaper. You will be 
given class time to work on the newspaper as a group.
The articles/comics/crossword puzzle must be written by the assigned person, 
and handwritten and ready to be revised by the end of class on Friday, 
November 21, 2008.
•    The typed paper is due on Monday, December 1, 2008
•    The group leader will assign one main article and one secondary 
article/comic/cartoon for each person in the group to do. 


MAIN ARTICLE (Each article must be a minimum of 75 words.) 
Choose one main article per person. Remember to title the article and put 
your name under the
title.
 •    A story about Prince Escalus’ rule on fighting in the streets of 
Verona.
 •    A story about Romeo and others crashing the Capulet’s party.
 •    A story about Tybalt killing Mercutio, and Romeo killing Tybalt.
 •    A story about Romeo’s banishment.

SECONDARY ARTICLE/COMIC/CROSSWORD PUZZLE 
(Each article must be a minimum of 50 words). 
Choose one article/comic/crossword puzzle per person. Remember to title it 
and put your name.
•    A wedding announcement for Paris and Juliet.
•    An advice column where Juliet writes in for advice about her forbidden 
love for Romeo, and the advice given back to Juliet.
•    An obituary for Mercutio and one for Tybalt.
•    A comic strip about Romeo’s love for Rosaline, and then his love for 
Juliet (6 different pictures and
captions).
•    A crossword puzzle using at least 10 of the characters’ names and 
descriptions.
Grading Rubric: (If the newspaper is not typed, it will not be graded).

        Correct spelling, grammar, capitalization,
