Piano One Classes-- . Con’t group two Keys. F, bflat, eflat. Con’t
movement between all three group one keys at one time. Con’t working on group
I keys . Con’t note reading. Rhythm, note types and duration. Rests types
and duration. Section one of book. “G” five fingered position. Moving in
and out of the G position using fingers 1 and 5 for notes above and below the
melody line. Introduction to first us of dynamic markings and the Italian
words and meanings. Use of meanings to words by use of demo. Introducton to
Sharps, Flats and Naturals. Test Friday on all Group one keys and their
relationships to each other. New: Begin work on Group Two keys.
Studio Piano-- Second level piano.Con’t from last week. Notes reading
above and below the leder line in both clefs. Exercises on the note reading
of ledger line. Beginning reading in flats and sharps(3,4,5,) . Inro to
minor keys and what makes them minor. Begin work on all scales and minor
(relative) Begin cadence work. Explanation of musical terms and how
student used meaning in the playing and feel of the music. Music in Minor
Keys. Explain 3 forms of each minor key and it’s relation to major key.
Test on on Minor keys of C, D all three forms of each minor scale.
Pass supplemental material out. Sight reading of music.
Studio Piano II :
Cont. work on selected piece
Student selection of music to be prepared for the week. Check for
understanding of the music. Student must exhibit self learning skills as
well as use of techniques learned in level II. New music for Student,
Memory on song of student choice!!
Choirs:
Warm-ups. Listening and learning to sing as a group. Check vocal parts.
Pass out new music, work on articulation exer. Begin work on music for
Christmas concert. (3,4,) Chordal work Choice of music for guest
performer. Test of Memorization of Jubilate!! New music Traditional Kyrie
and Carols round and round. Chistmas music memorization!!!
Guitar-. Pass out Christmas packet and the 132 most used chords in guitar
Introduction to three part harmony with duets. Divide groups into pairs and
work on Three part harmony with chordal progressions to back-up the melody in
three parts. The part chord and what makes chords . Student figures out
by formula what note make up a three part chords in given keys.Strings one
through six. Mid section of text (musical facts and notes) for each
string. New music given out for notes and understanding all first position
notes. Test on skill on walking notes on the fret board . Begin work on
chords and melody. Partner work (melody/chord) Test on Duet playing. Test
on duet song from each group!!!
