Unit Description: Unit 2 Reproduction and genetics
Essential Questions: What is the relationship between genes, chromosomes and proteins? Describe the relationship among DNA, genes, chromosomes, and proteins. Identify the basic structure and function of nucleic acids. . How is DNA related to protein synthesis? What are Mendels laws of genetics. Predict the genotype and phenotype of a monohybrid and dihybrd cross.

Using the frame identify the rules and vocabulary for working genetic problems . Students will complete vocabulary review using notes from Friday or Chapter 8. |
Students will apply definitions by using a handout. And begin working genetic problems involving a monohybrid cross. |
Students will work word problems using Mundelein genetic rules. Test Thursday on vocabulary and working monohybrid cross genetic problems. |
