Classroom Procedures
HOMEWORK: Homework will be assigned. Homework is worth 10 points.
Homework is graded on completeness not correctness. This is an easy 10
points that can be earned everyday.
WORKSHEET: The problems will be graded for correctness. The worksheets
will be worth at least 50 points.
QUIZ: Quizzes will be given periodically.
TEST: This will be worth 100 points and will be graded for correctness.
EXAM: A 9 weeks exam will be given covering all material discussed in
the grading period.
MISSED WORK: All homework, worksheets, and tests are to be made up
within five days of returning to class after an excused absence. Extended
illnesses necessitate a meeting between the student, parent(s), and teacher
in order to establish a schedule for make-up work and tests. A one-day
absence before a test date is not grounds for not taking the assigned test.
The week’s lesson will be posted on the board in the classroom. It is also
posted on the school’s website at salmenhigh.stpsb.org.

Overall procedures
Students are to know and follow the rules, regulations, and procedures
set forth in the St. Tammany Parish handbook and the Salmen High School
agenda. Students are to come to class prepared every day for classwork. All
supplies identified by the teacher are to accompany the student each day in
addition to any homework and/or preparatory work. It is the responsibility
of each student to pay attention, take notes, and ask questions during
class. If you do not understand what is being taught, it is your
responsibility to ask questions. If further assistance is needed,
arrangements can be made for lunch or after school tutoring. Students are
to use agenda books and/or notebooks to record assignment and test dates.
Failure to make such notations or to read them is not grounds for extending
assignment or test dates.
