Student Learning Activities:
|
Tsw copy notes from the ELMO or board on Section 4.1 Radian and Degree Measure
The notes and examples 1-4 on pages 250-252 will be covered together.
Ttw check for understanding through out the lesson. Tsw work on additional examples, problems 255-256, 1,5,7, and 13 while the teacher walks around to make sure everyone's working.
|
Tsw work on a Bellringer that's on the ELMO as they enter the class.
While, the students work on the bellringer, ttw walk around and check last night's homework.
As a class, we will go over the homework and answer any questions.
Ttw give explain and give examples of how to convert back and forth from degrees, minutes, and seconds, to just degrees, and finding angular/linear speed. |
Ttw hand out two worksheets to every student as they enter the classroom.
These worksheets review solving special right triangles. Tsw need to know the patterns to special right triangles to be able to evaluate all 6 trig functions to angles in the unit circle. |
Tsw have notes on the ELMO/board to copy on as soon as they come into the classroom. While they are copying notes, ttw walk around and check last night's homework.
Ttw go over with the students Examples 1 and 2 on pages 261-262.
Guided Practice: tsw work on problems 1,5,33 on their own while the teacher walks around to answer any questions.

Tsw work on a bellringer that is on the ELMO as they enter the classroom. Ttw walk around and check last night's homework while they are working on the bellringer.
Ttw demonstrate how to evaluate trig functions using the graphing calculator, as well as explain which trig functions are even and which are odd.
