Weekly Overview:	Unit Description: Unit 2 Polynomial Equations and Inequalities   Essential Questions: 1.      Can students use the rules of exponents to multiply monomials? 2.      Can students add and subtract polynomials and apply to geometric problems? 3.      Can students multiply polynomials and identify special products? 4.      Can students expand a binomial using Pascal’s triangle? 5.      Can students factor expressions using the greatest common factor, and can they factor binomials containing the difference in two perfect squares and the sum and difference in two perfect cubes? 6.      Can students factor perfect square trinomials and general trinomials? 7.      Can students factor polynomials by grouping? 8.      Can students select the appropriate technique for factoring?   Resources/Materials: TI 84 Graphing Calculator, paper, pencil, graphing paper   Standards/Benchmarks/GLEs:9.5, 11.2, 9.8, 11.4, 11.5, 11.6, 11.7, 11.8, 11.9, 11.10, 10.19, 11.16, 10.24, 11.19, 10.26, 11.22, 11.24, 11.25, 11.27, 11.28, 11.29

How does it relate to Pascal’s Triangle and how do we apply it to real world problems?		Bellringer Reviewing combinations and factorial.   Activity 3 Bellringer   Factor GCF from monomials and polynomials   Practice worksheet on factoring GCFs		Those not taking the PSAT will practice factoring		Bellringer on finding GCF and factoring trinomials   Special Factoring patterns (difference of squares, sum and difference of cubes)   Practice worksheet on special factoring patterns	Those not taking the PLAN will practice factoring GCF and special factoring patterns
