Salmen students pictured with 86 year old Navy and Marine veteran Mr. Bryant, a native of
Florida and a long-time Slidell resident. During WWII, he served as an air watchman on the
starboard side of the U.S.S. San Diego, and he later became a rifleman and a trainer for the Marines.
Mr. Bryant shared some of his exciting history, including details of his experience of living through
a tidal wave and information about his brother serving under General Patton during WWII.

Any changes to conduct or academic performance will be grounds for dismissal
from the organization. Provisional members must also attend a majority of
meetings and provide advance notice of absences from meetings.

Shelly W. Qualified students are invited to join at the end of their junior
and senior years of high school. The organization recognizes students who
have exhibited excellence in scholastic achievement, leadership, service,
and character during their high school years. Once students become members,
they must retain an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher, attend regular
meetings, and complete a service requirement during the school year.
Election for this year’s officers will be held in Nancy Pearson’s room on
Thursday, September 11 at 7:15 am.

Activities: Creating cement wall art. We are still in the process of
completing our fundraiser. We will need volunteers to finish the molds. When
