What is a FISH binder ?
Students will have a F.I.S.H. Binder (Family Involvement Starts Here)
This binder has to be brought back and forth to school/home everyday! It will hold teacher/parent communication, as well as information, homework, etc.
Please check and return your child's binder each day.
A Newsletter/Homework sheet will be sent home weekly in
this binder. Uncompleted assignments, class tasks/assignments will be in this binder.
Behavior calendar will be stapled in this binder as well.
STUDENTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HAVING THIS IN CLASS EVERYDAY--NO EXCEPTIONS!
When is homework given and when is it due?
Homework will be assigned every Friday and will be due every
Thursday. This allows those students who would like to have extra time or practice the weekend to begin assignments/tasks.
Occasionally,there will be special projects with due dates
attached.
When will tests and graded work be sent home?
Tests will be sent home in the Brown envelope every Wednesday/
Thursday. Please sign the TEST SIGNATURE page and return the
tests as I keep these for future reference.
What are the book bags ?
There is a book and activities page in the bag to be completed at
home with your child. This is an extra "fun" reading assignment.
Students take turns bringing these home. They will be sent home
on Monday to be returned on Friday.
What are the math folder/games ?
Like the book bags these are extra "fun" math activities to do at
home with your child. Students take turns bringing these home.
They will be sent home on Monday to be returned on Friday.
Can students bring snacks?
Students are allowed to bring a HEALTHY snack and water bottle
each day. Sunflower seeds and Ramon Noodles are NOT allowed.
Please be sure your child's name is on his/her water bottle and
(for sanitary reasons) that they bring it home each day.
What is Fun Friday?
Fun Friday is a weekly reward for students who complete classroom
assignments, earn required Accelerated Reader points, exhibit
good behavior, and complete ALL homework assignments. Students
who do not return all completed homework will NOT be allowed to
participate in Fun Friday
Can we bring a treat for birthdays?
If you would like to bring a small treat ( cookies, cupcakes,
drinks,etc.) for the class on your child's birthday please come
at afternoon recess 2:15 to 2:30. Send a note or phone to let me
know which day :)
