I have taught at Sixth Ward Elementary since the 1991-92 school year. I
graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1974 and attend USM in Hattiesburg
until I married my husband Sid. Then I worked at Parish National Bank until I
went to SLU. In May of 1990, I graduated with a BA from SLU. My certification
is in 1st through 8th grades. To finish my formal education, in 2003 I
earned a master's degree from Nova Southeastern in "BrainSmart" Learning.
Sid Allen is my husband. We have two boys, Lane and Robert Allen who
are 31 and 32. My two step-children are David and Tobi Allen. Chase Henry
is my grandson. He lives with Sid and me. He is in the 10th grade at Ben's
Ford Christian School. Then there is Nathan Allen who is in 8th grade at
Mandeville Junior High in Mandeville, La. Next there are my precious
granddaughters, Madison, Abi, and Isabelle who live in San Antonio, Texas.
Madison is in 11th grade this year, and Abi is in 5th grade. Isabelle is in
kindergarten. Harley is another granddaughter who lives in Baton Rouge, La
and began kindergarten this fall. Last, but very special are my two daughters-
in-law Wittney and Sam. Our new addition on December 6, 2011, is McKenzie
Irene Allen.
I know you realize my family is important to me. I know your family is
