NewsFlash

EDLINE UPDATE: In order for you to be properly signed up for Edline and able to receive classroom annoucements, you must activate your account with the activation code given earlier this week. Then you MUST CONFIRM your activation. Once you sign on to Edline and you put your email address, you will receive a confirmation email. You must open this email and confirm your activation!! You will not be in the system for emails if you do not open the email and confirm. I still need a confirmation from: Joel, Jiyah, Alejandro, Nigel, Rylee, Gabriel, and Anaya. I know this may be a confusing process, so I am trying to help in any way possible. Please email me if you have any questions. On Monday/Tuesday, I will send a step-by-step direction sheet if you are still having trouble. Thank you for your patience with this technological transition!

Today, we had 3 nurses from LSU Nursing School come visit us.They taught us about helmet, gun, and car safety. They gave us each a safety booklet and crayons to work at home.

Next Week (Sept.19th -23rd):
Monday -
Tuesday - Mass at 8:15

Wednesday -No Mass

Thursday
- Co-Op Meeting 7:30, Mystery Reader (Shhh..Bring your Saints shirt in your school bag) but  don't tell them why!

Friday - Black and Gold Day! (Wear your saints shirt, jersey, or black/gold shirt! Who Dat?!? Also, this is the first day of FALL!

THURSDAY, Jill's mom/dad will be our MYSTERY READER. She is also bringing GUMBO, the SAINTS DOG!!! This is a surprise for the children so please do not tell them. Please pack a Saints shirt/jersery/black-gold shirt in their schoolbag. We will change into it before they come! They must wear their regular school uniform to school. How exciting!!

THURSDAY is also the Co-Op Meeting. Please try to attend! This is a NO HOMEWORK night so you are able to come!

FRIDAY is a B
LACK AND GOLD DAY! Wear a Saints shirt, jersey, or black/gold t-shirt! WHO DAT!

Some Letter A activities for next week:

** taste and graph our favorite apple. Which will we like the best--green, red, yellow?
** make apple trees with prints from our 3 kinds of apples
** make a candy apple
** alphabet playdough and stencils
** acting
** listen to "Alphabet Rescue" in our listening center
** handwriting-practice writing G, O, C, A
** play with animals, animal blockmates, animal puzzles
** we will also start making our special projects for our grandparents and make a fall handprint with yellow,red, and orange fingerprints with paint

JOEL is our FISH OF THE WEEK! We can't wait to learn more about you! Fish of the week posters go home on Friday. Please decorate them and return them on Monday. Your child may also bring in a show and tell when they are the fish of the week. 

THANK YOU TO ALL PARENTS WHO REMEMBERED TO SEND THEIR CHILD'S SCR SWEATSHIRT OR SWEATER FOR PICTURE DAY!! The whole class had their read sweater/sweatshirt! Way to go parents!!
I am sending both newsflash and Edline for a few days so we can make sure you get the information!

WACKY WORDS - List 2 - you, he, she, is on
Our beans are still GROWING! We will learn the importance of dirt, sunlight, water, and love. We will observe and document their growth for about 2 weeks!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS...KINDERGARTEN FIELD TRIP WILL BE FRIDAY, MARCH 16, 2012. We will be going to RED BLUFF FARM. Parents are welcomed to attend. Details will come later in the year.

Feed the Hungry is the first Wednesday of every month. Please send in a non-perishable food item to help the less fortunate. This is a great way to teach our little ones about the importance of helping others! Thank you!
 
Mission Money - we will be collecting money for the less fortunate throughout the year. Please encourage your children to help others in need. Perhaps, they can earn money by doing chores and helping out at home
