RELIGION
Text: Who Am I? (Image of God Series by Ignatius Press)
This text provides age-appropriate lessons that teach the basic beliefs of
the Catholic Church. Each chapter is gospel-based and gives opportunity for
student response. The school-wide Religion theme for this year is "Like
living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house."
READING and LANGUAGE ARTS
Text: Happily Ever After (Rowland)
This is a Reading Readiness program which teaches early
literacy skills through a multimodal approach that centers around a variety
of classic literature as well as nursery rhymes.
HANDWRITING
Text: Get Set For School (Handwriting Without Tears)
This program is a developmentally appropriate, positive one which fosters
skills that lead to success with coloring, drawing, and handwriting and is
designed to prepare the children for kindergarten.
MATH
Text: Math (Harcourt)
Individual units develop mathematical ideas from each of the following
areas: Number and Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, and Data
Analysis and Probability. Math concepts from these areas are taught through
hands-on activities and manipulatives used in centers.
SCIENCE / SOCIAL STUDIES
Text: Teacher-created units.
Basic science and social studies themes are
explored throughout the year often in correlation with letters being
studied.
SPANISH
PreK students will attend Spanish class once a week. The Spanish teacher is
Lindsay Guisti.
LIBRARY
PreKindergarten students will attend Library once a week for 30 minutes.
PreKindergartners do not check out library books. The school librarian is
Savanna Carter.
MUSIC
PreKindergarten students will attend Music class once a week for 30
minutes. The Music teacher is Mr. Gregory Tanner.
P.E.
PreKindergarten students will attend P.E. twice a week for 30 minutes. The
P.E. teachers are Mrs. Jean Murphy and Ms. Milene Miranti.
