encourage a commitment, devotion, and friendship with Jesus. Please reinforce this at home with bible stories and actively practicing your faith.

Chapter 1 God Is Our Father
1. God is our Father in Heaven.
2. God gives me what I need.
3. God created Heaven and earth.
4. God made me because He loves me.
5. Everyone should say thank you God for His gifts, His love, and His care.
6. We pray the Our Father. LEARN THIS PRAYER.
7. Our families, our faith, our education are also gifts from God.
8. Jesus taught that God is our Father with the Our Father prayer.
9. Since God is the Father of everyone, we are all brothers and
sisters, we should love everyone in the family of God.
10. Prayer is talking to God.

Chapter 2 Heaven Is Our Home
1. Heaven is God's home and a place of perfect happiness.
2. If a person is good and has faith he will go to Heaven after his death.
3. LEARN the SIGN of the CROSS. Be able to do it correctly.

5. God wants me to go to Heaven.
6. When Jesus died on the Cross, He opened the gates of Heaven for all.
7. The Sign of the Cross tells us about three Persons in one God.

Chapter 3 God Watches Over Everything
1. God is everywhere, all powerful, all knowing, and all good.
2. God knows everything and cares for all of His children.
3. To create means to make something out of nothing.
4. God knows all things, even our thoughts.
5. God created everything that exists and gave it to us.
6. Angels are invisible spirits created by God to be His helpers.
7. God is in Heaven, on earth, and in every place.
8. God is all powerful.

Chapter 4 God's Special Gifts
1. Our bodies have five senses; these are gifts from God.
2. Three things we must do to go to heaven: know, love, and serve God.
3. People have a soul that will live forever.
4. We use our senses for good.(touch, taste, smell, sight, hearing)
5. With our soul we can think, love, and choose good.
6. God has given me a guardian angel to watch over me.
7. Guardian angels protect our bodies, and our souls.

Chapter 5 Adam and Eve
1. Adam was the first man and Eve was the first woman;
both created by God.
2. The Garden of Eden was a happy place where Adam and Eve lived
3. God created the world and all creatures lived peacefully.
4. Adam and Eve received the gift of God's grace.
5. Grace is God's life in us.
6. God made Adam and Eve.
7. God created Adam and Eve with a body and a soul.
8. Adam and Eve were in charge of God's creation.
9. Stewardship is a special word for responsibility to God's creation.
10. Adam and Eve were to take care of the animals and the garden.

Chapter 6 A Sad Story
1. Sin is saying no to God. Sin is not obeying God.
2. Adam and Eve committed the first sin on earth.
3. They had to leave the Garden of Eden because of sin.
4. Adam and Eve lost God's gift of grace, Heaven and the Garden of Eden.
5. They were sorry for their sin.
6. We are born with Original Sin and without grace because of Adam and
Eve. Our Baptism washes away our sin and gives grace.
7. We must be sorry for our sins and ask God for forgiveness.
8. God still loved Adam and Eve, even though they turned away from God.
9. God felt sorry for them, and all people that would be born after them.
10. God promised to send a Savior. The Savior would win back God's grace
and open the gates of Heaven once more. (Jesus is our Savior)

Chapter 7 A Time of Waiting
1. Noah and his sons were obedient to God. They were chosen to save the world.
God told Noah to build an ark and fill it with all the animals. (flood)
2. Obedience is doing what one is told to do.
3. God did not send a Savior right away and some people sinned.
4. Abraham obeyed God, even when it was difficult.
5. Faith is a gift that makes a person able to believe all that God says.
6. We obey the Savior and prepare for His coming.
7. Each year before Christmas, the Church has a special "waiting" called Advent.
8. God promised to make Abraham a great nation.
9. Abraham trusted in God and did as He asked.
10. God rewarded Abraham for his faith.

Chapter 8 Getting Ready For the Savior
1. Prophets were holy men who prepared people for the coming of the
Savior.
2. God sent many prophets. Prophets also told the future of
things to come.
3. Advent is a time of preparation for Christ's coming at Christmas.
4. Moses was the first prophet.
5. God sent many prophets to the Jewish people.
6. God has a plan for each of us.
7. God gave Moses the Ten Commandments.
8. The Ten Commandments are rules that teach us how to live.
9. If we disobey the Ten Commandments, we sin and must be sorry.
10. St. John the Baptist was the cousin of the Savior. He told people to be
sorry for their sins and prepared them for the Savior.
St. John baptized Jesus.

Chapter 9 Mary Hears Some Wonderful News
1. Mary did not have Original Sin when she was born.
2. Mary never sinned and always pleased God.
3. Mary lived in a town called Nazareth.
4. God sent the angel Gabriel to visit her. The angel said God wanted
her to be the mother of His Son, the promised Savior.
5. Mary said "yes" and that replaces the "no" of Adam and Eve in
the garden.
6. St. Joseph is the husband of Mary and the foster-father of Jesus.
7. Learn to say the Hail Mary and the Glory Be.
8. The rosary teaches us to honor Mary and to stay close to Jesus.
9. Mary is the mother of Jesus.
10. God is the father of Jesus.

Chapter 10 The Savior Is Born
1. Mary and Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem.
2. Jesus was born in a manger.
3. A manger is a wooden box used to hold food for animals.
4. Christ was born in a stable and laid in a manger because there was
no room in the inn. Mary laid Baby Jesus in a manger.

5. Shepherds are people that take care of sheep.
Shepherds went to see Jesus and to worship the Savior.
Angels sang, "Glory to God."
6. Worship means to give your best love and praise to God.
7. Jesus is both true God and true man; this is a mystery of the
Catholic faith.
8. Jesus is the Savior of the world.
9. Jesus is the "Light of the World."
10. Our best Christmas gift to Jesus is a loving heart offered
to Him at Mass.

Chapter 11 Three Wise Men Arrive
1. The three wise men came to Bethlehem to worship Jesus.
2. They followed a star that brought them to Jesus.
3. The wise men knew that Jesus was a king. ("King of kings")
4. Jesus came to save everybody.
5. The wise men gave gifts to Jesus..
6. Our good deeds are gifts for Jesus.
7. My prayers are a gift to Him.
8. The Morning Offering is a prayer that offers our daily activities
to Jesus.
9. During mass we can worship Jesus as the wise men did in Bethlehem.
10. Christ is present on the altar, we worship Him with love and prayers.

Chapter 12 Jesus Grows Up
1. Baby Jesus was presented to God in the temple.
2. As a boy, Jesus lived, worked, and played in Nazareth.
3. Because King Herod wanted to kill the Christ Child, St. Joseph
and Mary fled to Egypt with Him.
4. St. Joseph was the head of the Holy Family.
5. Everyone should follow the example of Jesus in his life.
6. In the Fourth Commandment God tells us we must love and
obey our parents. Honor is loving and obeying our parents.
7. Jesus was lost for three days.
8. Mary and St. Joseph rejoiced finding Jesus in the Temple.
9. St. Joseph was a carpenter and made things out of wood.
Jesus obeyed Joseph and helped him in the workshop.
10. Jesus is the Son of God.

Chapter 13 Jesus Begins His Work
1. Jesus spent His public life teaching--in word and in deed--
about God's love for man.
2. Jesus was called " rabbi." Jesus told people about God.
3. Jesus has a special love for children.
4. Today, priests bless children just as Jesus did.
5. Jesus called twelve men to be His Apostles.
6. The Apostles lived with and learned from Jesus for three years.
7. When Jesus returned to Heaven, the Apostles carried on His
work on earth.
8. Everyone can be an apostle of Jesus by behaving as He would
and learning about Him in order to teach others.
9. An Apostle is someone who is sent out by another to help do
His work.
10. Jesus sent the Apostles to teach everyone about Him.

Chapter 14 Jesus Tells The Good News
1. The Good News is that God loves us all.
2. God wants all people to be His children.
3. God wants everyone to live with Him forever in Heaven.
4. Jesus and the Apostles taught the Good News by word and deed.
5. Jesus taught everyone how to love God and one another.
6. We can read the Good News in the bible and listen to the
Good News in church during Mass.
7. The bible is God's word and a holy book. Jesus taught us how to pray.
8. We can live the Good News by loving God and our neighbor.
9. The Bible has two parts: the Old Testament and the New
Testament. The Old Testament teaches us about God and
the New Testament teaches us about Jesus.
10. Jesus and His Apostles went from town to town.
Learn the Great Commandment:
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your strength,
and with all your mind. You shall love your neighbor
as you love yourself." (use hand motions to help you remember)
