Hello!
I began my teaching career in l993 at the age of 35. My first degree
is in Journalism from LSU. I received my teaching certification from
Southeastern Louisiana University fourteen years later. One thing that both
of my careers share is a love and appreciation for the power of story.
Although we are individuals with our own stories, we are also part of one
larger story - the human race.
I love teaching because I love learning and hope to instill upon
students a desire to learn.
Important things that have shaped and defined me as a teacher are the
support of my family, my colleagues, and the National Writing Project, also
the opportunity to study the art and craft of teaching while achieving
National Board Certification.
My mission for both American Literature and Fine Art Survey is to inspire
students to become life long learners
