Deanna Desmond: I have been teaching for 21 years and I am
delighted to be your teacher this year. I am a graduate of Southeastern
Louisiana University and I have a Master's degree in School and Family
Counseling. Though I very much enjoy the conseling field, I am not yet ready
to leave my classroom because I enjoy teaching and love to see the growth my
students make each year. I began my teaching career teaching fourth grade at
Mandeville Middle, then I moved here to Tchefuncte when we opened. It has
been my pleasure to teach both fourth and fifth grade here.
I am the proud mother of two beautiful daughters. My 8 year old is in third
grade and my 5 year old is in Kindergarten at Pontchartrain Elementary.
Both girls love to dance, sing and play dolls. In my free time I love
reading and scrapbooking. As a family, we love to travel and believe that
the next adventure is just around the corner. We love playing together
and feel that family time is the most important time!
Sherry Leedy: This will be my 18th year of having the best job in the world,
teaching children. I began my teaching career in Jefferson Parish where I
taught sixth grade for 9 years before moving to the northshore in 2003. I was
so excited to become part of Tchefuncte Middle School's faculty during the
2003-2004 school year. Gators are Awesome!
My husband, Stephen, and I have been married for 16 years and have a
beautiful seven year old daughter. Brianne keeps us busy, laughing, and
definitely up-to-date on fairies & princesses! My hobbies
are scrapbooking and going to the movies.
Desmond=To learn all we can and have fun doing it!
Leedy: All children are "gifted". You just need to figure out which "boxes"
to open!
