Spelling(6th grade): Pretest - Thursday ; Test - Friday
This week's spelling words will include open,closed,or VCE syllables with the 
final suffix "tion".   We have also begun including dictated 
sentences as part of the weekly spelling test.  These sentences will include 
words based on the syllable types and rules covered thus far.


Language (6th grade): Caught ya - proofreading assessement - Friday
We will be using our knowledge of transition words, similes and metaphors, 
and vivid language to complete the "in class" book reports on a historical 
fiction.

Reading (6th grade): Novel vocabulary test #3 - Next Tuesday
We will continue reading the historical fiction novel, Number the Stars,
(based on the Holocaust and World War II). In cooperative groups the students 
will continue completing a book report form identical to the one that will be 
used for the "At home" book report - due Wednesday, November 18th. 
(directions will be sent home in this week's green folder)  
Continued focus on basic story elements - setting, characters, plot, and 
theme. 

Math (6th grade): Test on computation (multiplication and division) - Friday
This week we will be completing the "Math Checkpoints" test for this 2nd 9 
weeks. 
  
SAINTS Math - Through our weekly Saints updates we have explored ratio, 
fractions, percent, mean, median, mode, and Stem and Leaf Plots.   GO SAINTS!!

"Everyday Math Counts"
Skills introduced thus far include: 3 dimensional figures, patterns, arrays, 
fractions, decimals, percent, subtraction of money, and area/perimeter.

**    WALK-A-THON PLEDGE CARDS are due by November 13th. The pledge cards 
were placed in their folders
