Spelling(6th grade): Pretest - Thursday ; Test - Friday
This week's spelling words will include multisyllable words involving closed,
open, and VCE syllables. Suffixes may also be included.
Language (6th grade): Caught ya - proofreading assessement - Friday
We will be using our knowledge of transition words, similes and metaphors,
and vivid language to begin writing a 5 paragraph letter based on a biography
read in class.
Reading (6th grade):
This week students will complete and present their powerpoint presentations
(based on the Holocaust and World War II. We will also begin discussing our
December book report which will be based on a biography or autobiography.
Math (6th grade): Test on computation (multiplication and division) - Friday
Our new focus will be identifying patterns in multiplication and division
problems.
We will also continue reviewing the "Math Checkpoints" test for this 2nd 9
weeks.
SAINTS Math - Through our weekly Saints updates we have explored ratio,
fractions, percent, mean, median, mode, and Stem and Leaf Plots. GO SAINTS!!
"Everyday Math Counts"
New December skill: equivalent fractions
Skills introduced thus far include: 3 dimensional figures, patterns, arrays,
fractions, decimals, percent, subtraction of money, and area/perimeter.
