Born and raised in Bunkie, Louisiana, I was the third of six children,
four boys and two girls. After graduating from LSU, I moved to New Orleans
and taught at St. Michael's School for 11 years before moving to St. Tammany
Parish. I have been teaching at Tchefuncte Middle School since the school
began - 15 years ago. My husband and I have been blessed with three boys. In
fact, each one of them attended Pontchartrain Elementary and Tchefuncte
Middle, and their current ages are 20, 16, and 12.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, especially historical fiction books. I
love recommending books to others and having them do the same for me. My
friends and family tease me about always wanting to play board games!
Scrabble, Boggle, and Balderdash are my favorites. Over the past few years, I
have enjoyed traveling with my family. Fortunately, we were able to visit my
brother and his family in Spain this summer.
Without a doubt, I have chosen just the right career for me. I love
reading, learning, and playing. Teaching allows me to do all these things
while getting to know wonderful young people in the process. I am so anxious
to do all these things again this school year!
