On Friday, April 9th, 2010, Thibodaux Elementary School welcomed a very special guest. Senator Mary Landrieu visited Lafourche Parish to witness how needs were being met through federal, state, and local funds in our schools. Thibodaux Elementary was chosen to showcase different initiatives being offered throughout the parish.
Our choir performed for the Senator upon her arrival. The Senator visited two of our 21st Century Classrooms as well as one of our Pre-K classrooms. She was also informed about the progress of our new building. The visit ended with the Senator signing our commitment wall, promising to always put the “children first”, in her job as a law maker, in Washington D.C. We were honored to have her on campus and know that Thibodaux Elementary was represented well along with our wonderful parish. Look at the photographs of her visit here.
