Your child will take Accelerated Reader (AR) tests this year. These
comprehension tests are on the computers in the classroom or in the
library. These books can be found in our school library or the book baskets
in our classroom.
The passing rate for AR is 60%. This means if the test only has 5 questions
they can miss two. If the test has 10 questions they can miss four. Please
encourage your child to read the book several times before taking a test.
There is now an AR book list available online. Go to
http://www.bayou.com/~univschl/ scroll down to the bottom of the page and
click on UES Accelerated Reader Book List. This will bring up the book list
and level for each book. You might have some AR books at home, just check
the website.
