Homework

March 8th-12th

We will not have a story from the reading book this week.  We will be reading 
Bustop the Cat and Mrs. Lin by Amy Reichert and Nigel by Debra Duel.
We will have a math test over chapter 8 Friday.

Vocabulary Words:
1.  Jig:  A funny Irish Dance
2.  Ireland:  A large island in Europe
3.  Emerald Isle:  A nickname for Ireland.
4.  Shillelagh:  A short heavy club from Ireland.
5.  Treasure:  The leprechaun's gold.
6.  Shamrocks:  Lucky green leaves from Ireland.
7.  Blarney:  Irish talk that flatters you to try and get a favor.
8.  Leprechaun:  A tricky Irish elf.
9.  Irish potatoes:  A vegetable with eyes.
10. St. Patrick's Day:  An Irish holiday.

Spelling Words: 
no spelling words

SPELLING: 
All spelling homework should be done in spelling notebook.
Monday-Write the words three times each.
Tuesday-Write words in "abc" order.
Wednesday-Write a sentence with each word.  Students can put more than one 
word in a sentence. 
Thursday-Take a pre-test at home and write mispelled words 3 times each.
Friday-Spelling Test.

MATH: 
Chapter 8 time, data, and graphs
Homework page each night except Friday.
Practice math facts each night using flash cards or timed tests.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES/HEALTH:
Homework varies-always look for a study guide before a test.
