What does it take to do well in English?

Being conscientious and hard-working, always turning in the
assignments on time. If a student just makes the effort to do the
work and understand the concepts and the stories, he cannot fail.
Lack of effort, however, never pays off.

What are the requirements for getting into AP English?

Seniors have an opportunity to be a part of an AP (Advanced
Placement) Literature and Composition class. This class offers
reading and writing assignments on a college level. This English
Literature and Composition class challenges senior high school
students to read and analyze in depth novels, short stories,
poems, and expository prose that are classified as works of
literary merit. Students are required to write critical extended
analyses explaining in detail their understanding and
interpretation of the reading assignments.
Students will learn to write on a college level. This class has
been approved by the National College Board. In May the students
are eligible to take an AP exam that will allow college credit if
a score of 3, 4, or 5 is attained.

How can I get on the yearbook and newspaper staff?

Journalism is an elective that is available for junior and senior
and now sophomore students. Students who elect to take journalism
will automatically become a part of the yearbook staff. We
welcome hard-working students who are self-starters who are
creative. Journalism is now offered during the spring semester.
