EIGHTH GRADE SUGAR BABY PROJECT

DELIVERY:	February 14, 2012

PURPOSE OF PROJECT:
The purpose of this project is to experience the awesome responsibility 
of parenting and the necessity for a loving and Christ centered family in 
today’s society.  This project will share with the students a tremendous 
commitment and dedication needed to raise a family.

REQUIREMENTS:

	Portfolio Due:  Friday, February 17, 2012

	    Contains:	Birth Certificate
			Baptismal Certificate
			Daily Log Sheet
			Expense Sheet
			Baby Picture with Parent/Activities
			Daily Diary Notes (Four Days – Handwritten – Care of 
                        the baby, feelings, emotions, reactions, relationship 
                        to God
			Typed Summary Page:  What did you learn from this 
                        project?
			Were there days when you asked yourself, “Why me?”
			What about your relationship with God?
			Did you say prayers with your baby?
			Did you read your baby a book?  
                        Have you selected a high school and college for your 
                        baby?
			Has this helped to make you more responsible?  More 
                        loving, kinder, or patient?
 			Other
Rubric: Due: Friday, February 17, 2012 (5 point penalty each day late)

OTHER INFORMATION: This project is meant to be a serious learning experience.
Kidnapping, mistreatment, etc., of student’s baby will result in the 
perpetrator receiving a maximum of a 60 as a grade.


“REAL EXPENSES”: Again, this is a learning experience.  Please use good 
judgment when clothing and feeding your child.  Resist great expense.  Borrow 
clothing from a relative, neighbor, or friend.  You may place your sugar baby 
inside a doll if the doll is big enough to do so.  All babies should return 
to school on Monday in a carrier or basket with proper feeding and change of 
diapers.
