Weekly Reading Journal Topics .

When completing each daily journal entry, be sure to follow the Reading Journal rules you stapled to the inside cover of your Reading Journal . Each entry should be separated from preceding entries by at least one line, written in ink, dated, state the topic for that day, and have at least five (5) complete sentences responding to the topic. DO NOT MIX Reading Journal entries with D.O.L.'s, or any other materials.

Writing constructed responses to journal topics will help you become a better writer. Constructed responses restate the question in the process of answering the question. For example: Why did Scott's mother send him to the store? Scott's mother sent him to the store to purchase the milk she needed to make the brownies Scott wanted to eat for dessert.
